Norma Joan Cheney

In loving memory of Norma JOAN CHENEY.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joan Cheney, at the age of 95. Joan passed away peacefully on Friday 6 June 2025, surrounded by her family.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late Jack Cheney and a devoted mother and mother-in-law to Lynda Watson; Sandra Grentell; Chris and Wendy (dec’d) Cheney; Elizabeth and Greg Williams; and Anne-Maree and Tony Rake.

Joan was also the proud Granma of Brendon, Christopher, Phillip, Russell, Elizabeth; and Matthew, Danial; and Paul, Laura, Melissa; and Cassandra, Rebecca; and Kahn, Ben, Jane, Alex, Michael. Joan’s family spans 5 generations - she was also blessed with 30 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.

Joan was a pillar of strength and love, deeply adored by her siblings Irene, Jack and Ray (all dec’d), and was a loving sister-in-law and a guiding presence to her many nieces and nephews. Joan was also a loved friend to many, especially Robyn and Dorothy.

Joan’s devotion to God and her family will be forever remembered.

A service to celebrate Joan’s extraordinary life will be offered in St. John’s Anglican Church, Church St. Wagga Wagga on Tuesday 17th June 2025 commencing at 1:00pm. Following the service, the cortege will leave for the Wagga Lawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend or are invited to view the service via the livestream broadcast window below.
