LATEST ANNOUNCEMENT: As at Friday 20th October: - COVID-19 NSW restrictions

NSW is no longer under lockdown. However, there are different rules for people who are fully vaccinated and those who are not fully vaccinated.

Rules for fully vaccinated people

Restrictions across NSW have eased for people who are fully vaccinated or have a medical exemption.

Funerals and memorial services

  • Funerals and memorial services can have no more than 1 person per 4 square metres indoors and 1 person per 2 square metres outdoors.

  • You can attend a funeral or memorial service anywhere in NSW and must show your full vaccination certificate on entrying

  • You can eat and drink while standing.

Places of worship

A place of worship can open to all members of the public. You must sign in using the Service NSW check-in app and wear a face mask indoors.

Rules for people who aren’t fully vaccinated

Funerals and memorial services

If you are not fully vaccinated, you can only attend a small funeral or memorial service. No more than 10 people can attend. This doesn’t include the person conducting the service and any others required for its conduct.

Further reopening from 1 December 2021

Restrictions are expected to ease further from 1 December 2021. Changes will include the following.

  • No more than 1 person per 2 square metres are allowed at most venues.

  • People who are not fully vaccinated will have greater freedoms.

  • Funerals permitted with no person limit, and eating and drinking allowed while standing, density limits still apply.
